The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) survey by households begins in early April. It is conducted by TNS ILRES on behalf of STATEC by telephone. Phone numbers are randomly selected by computer. The answers are from a sample of 1,500 households and 1,500 individuals.
According to the results of the 2016 survey, nearly all resident households have Internet access at home. 95% of Internet users connect daily or almost and mostly via their smartphone (83%). Nearly 7 out of 10 Internet users have participated in social networks, used travel-related services, conducted online banking and sought after health information. The ICT survey Module 2016 deals with the confidentiality and protection of personal data. Only 8% of Internet users did not communicate personal information on the internet.
